A while back, I was messing around to see if this blueray drive worked on my ps3 and I wasent careful enough with my drive controller and heard a small pop sound. I am dreadful about this and trying to fix it now. What will be my best course of actions?

Im not too sure, but buying another drive control board will not work as far as I know the drive control board is paired with the motherboard, and only the original BD control board will allow the motherboard to communicate with the drive.

You could try inspecting the board, see if there is any blackened components or any obvious damage. Depending on the extent of the damage it could be repaired
