I know there are allot of things on the internet about Blue ray drives but i haven?t found one like mine.
My friend has a 60GB Ps3 and it has worked fine until the Blue ray drive went so it didn?t read blue ray but every thing else was fine but he unplugged it and left it for a few months until i found it again and wanted to try and fix it because it was only the Brd.I don?t own a Ps3 so i don?t know what?s supposed to happen when a disk is put in. I tried some DVDs and ps1 games and they didn?t work they do the same thing as blue ray the disk goes in (no sound coming from the drive)A clock image in the corner starts spinning but nothing happens. Is it the Brd or some thing else?

Sounds like you have a dead Blu-ray drive...see here for more info.

If there is one thing that sony can't do it is making a relabile optical drive.

Would this fix the problem?
And would it work in a 60GB i read some where that some lasers don?t work because there not compatible with the motherboard or some thing like that.
