Ok guys, I've finally found my heaven. I've been looking for a forum like this for I don't know how long and finally stumbled across it; thank you for being here!
Now, I've been searching and can't quite find my answer, even though I know for a fact it is indeed out there (not lazy, just don't have enough time to search page after page of search results; I work over 50 hours a week).
So, to you great gents, and hopefully a few ladies: if I were to torrent a ps3 game someone else had ripped, or old ps2 or psX game not available for download through the Store, how would I go about installing that game to my harddrive and playing it?
(I downloaded the Final Fantasy 7 for ps3/psp from the Playstation Store and am really wanting to be able to have the full psx and ps2 series of FF games available to play. If it helps, I have all the original games on discs, so could I rip them and implant them somehow?)

I have. Like I said, I've searched. But I haven't really found the answer I'm looking for other than "You can't play ps3 backups." Fine by me, I'll just buy ps3 titles like I planned to anyway. But I haven't found anything on psX and ps2 games being installed and ran on the harddrive.
And there's the 50+ hours a week working thing. My time is more valuable than running through page after page of questions similar but not the same as mine with people like yourself flaming for more than half the replies, making it more annoying than ever to find the tidbits of useful information.

Dont be silly, suggesting that you use the search function is hardly a flame, nor is it harrasment, you say your time is valuable, well my time is more valuable than helping someone too lazy use the search function.
In fact you dont even need to use the search function, there are several threads below this one, answering your very question.
As you are indeed to lazy or cant be bothered looking, i will answer your questions, so you dont strain yourself after all those hours of work >.<
1.PS3 back ups cannot be played, there is the sticky at the top off the forum explaining so and about 5 threads below this one at the time of posting.
2.Yes you can play PS2 backups, you need Swap Magic and USB Loader, though i dont know how you will possibly mange to play any games, when you dont even have any time to read a simple thread telling you the answer.
