Guys,

I've got Blu-ray movie file on HDD in .mkv how do I play that on my Sony Playstation 3 Slim?

Or

Do I need to convert the file to mpeg4 file in order for it to play?

What settings and software do I need to convert without compromising on HD quality?

I hope hope to have error free PC oneday:)

Assuming both the ps3 and the PC is wired to the router, and your PC is capable; using ps3mediaserver would be your best bet. Wouldn't have to wait for hours upon hours converting it either. But it might lose a marginal amount of quality; not in the resolution department but possibly in the audio and fps.

If you're just looking for pure quality this thread would be your best bet: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/621809

Canuckerz is right it is easier to just stream media to the PS3. I suggest you give Tversity a try.

PS3...it only does everything(that Sony allows it to)

Yep no real loss of quality (that I noticed)... and you get a hell of a lot more storage space than the PS3. Well depending on the size of your computers HDD. Which Im sure is more than the PS3.

1) Is Twonky Media software, any good with Sony Playstation 3?

I'm looking for Mac streaming application since I have Mac Mini that uses Less power and could stay ON all day.

2) Could I attach External HDD to my Wireless N+ Router then stream HD contents to PS3? 2ndly, Do I need to format the HDD to Fat32, I believe PS3 Doesn't read NTFS formated HDD?

3) Could anyone suggest Mac Software?

Thanks.

I hope hope to have error free PC oneday:)

1.) Haven't heard a whole lot about that one either way.

2.) Not sure the ps3 would be able to interact with it if its hooked up in that format though if it were to work yes it would have to use a fat32 format.

3.) PS3mediaserver also works on mac's as long as they use an intel processor.

Other than that my knowledge of mac programs is fairly slim. Hopefully that will start you off anyway.

Thank you also, for your suggestions.

I will do bit more research into this. Will deffnetly give PS3 Media server a go. Since, I have NEW Panasonic Plasma Screen V10 model Panasonic have provided me Twonky media licene Key to use that application with DLNA and Streaming.

I'm thinking I maybe need to pick one App or install Both Softwares:)
