Hello, just a quick question.

I have a softmodded wii running 4.1U with no mod chip, no preloader, no bootmii.

i only have access to the savemii using a torn apart gamecube controller.

i recently installed two wads to my system menu that i am pretty sure caused it to say that the system files are corrupted when i turn on the wii and go past the health warning. is there a way i can fix this without buying a modchip to use a recovery disc?

on the system menu i have the homebrew channel but i cant access it being the only way i know how is through the system menu.

i know about using a game with a valid update using the savemii recovery but i tried new super mario bros and it just stayed black. does it need to be a newer system menu (4.2?)

not sure what cios i got but i think its Rev16 not sure what CMIos i have though.

thank you in advanced

First, try booting this disc from the recovery menu: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FKO20BQG

If it doesn't work, you'll need to do this:
1. Get an autobooting modchip. Drivekey is a good one.

2. Play games & create so many save files & install so many channel you run out of hard drive space so the wii HAS to take you to data management to free up some space.

3. Clear up space & install a hacked save file of Indiana Pwns

4. Play Indiana Jones & run the exploit.

5. Use WAD Manager to uninstall the WAds & fix your wii.

Read more on this method here: http://forum.wiibrew.org/read.php?22,43230

Once you have a modchip you can start.

im looking at the drivekey. forget about 4.2

when i install it, will it work out of box with booting games. OR do i need a working wii to get it to work to the point where i can install it in my semi bricked and get it to autoload into games?

i have boot discs, can i get it to just auto boot my copies of last change unbricker and or ultimate unbricker version 4 i believe they are called?

thanks in advanced

The Drivekey needs to be configured to autoboot games. If you're ordering it from a supplier or modchop, ask them to configure it to autoboot before they send it out, or perhaps a friend of yours has a wii you can borrow.

Last Change Unbricker & Universal Unbrick Disc v4 both require Trucha Patch, a custom patch allowing you to use custom discs. I doubt you have this installed, but give these discs a try when you're all set to go.

Yeah, I know that i don't have the Trucha Patch because they wont load inside the recovery SaveMII menu. I saw that the preprogrammed chips were going for around 65 which is ridiculous. Luckily, i have a friend who was willing to help me out with the programming.

I'm going to try to fill up the system menu, and install the Indiana Pwns exploit, I hope it works.

The wad that banner bricked was an injected Super Mario All Stars + World with a customer banner. I'm pretty sure it was the custom banner that bricked. Its annoying how one small WAD did so much damage but I guess it's bad that I didn't hack the IOS70 or 60 with the Trucha patch.

I'll tell you how the mod goes, it'll be done in two weeks since I have to wait to buy the chip, going with Wiikey 2 solderless.

Thanks for your help again bro
