Hi Guys,
I followed the 4.2 guide on updating the wii firmware and did the section on ANY TITLE DELETER and deleted the IOS's like the guide tells you to:
IOS222
IOS223
IOS249
IOS250
These deleted without a problem.
Now if i was to install NeoGamma R7 for example, in the guide it tells you to select IOS wersion to use <IOS249> and press A. I already have NeoGamma R7 installed as i was on a previously softmodded wii before firmware 4.2 but it seems that i cant complete the DOP-IOS MOD section of the guide.
Does this matter as everything seems to be working fine anyway?
Also when i install a WAD game to the wii and then MOVE the game over to my SD card and then try to play it, the game cant run. I have read that i need the IOS60 to fix this issue, is it ok for me to install this on the 4.2 firmware?
Thanks for your help

You need to patch IOS70 (which is a step in DOP-IOS) for WAD Installed VC/WiiWare games to play from SD card.
The reason you delete 222223/249/250 is because 4.2 firmware adds stubs to those IOS so nothing van be installed to it. All your doing is deleting the stubbed versions so you can install a cIOS to them.

Thanks for the reply
The problem is now that i have loaded the DOP-IOS MOD and when it tells you to use IOS249 in the guide to install other IOS's, its not there in the list on my wii, i do have the option to install IOS36 (r3351) w/fakesign.
Could it be something im doing wrong?

If IOS249 isn't in the list then you don't have the cIOS38_rev14 installed (which installs to IOS249(. Follow that section of the guide again and make sure it gets installed properly.

You were right, the problem was when i tried to install the IOS249 through cIOS38_rev14 and it must have been my internet at fault when i tried it the first time and hadnt noticed it. Ive just finished all the guide and everything is working great.
Thanks for your help

HI THERE,
This one is for larrylje. I just wanna thank you for writing that guide for soft-modding your 4.2 wii. I WAS FOLLOWING YOUR GUIDE when all of a sudden, I STARTED RUNNING INTO PROBLEMS MYSELF. Particularly under the step of ANYTITLE DELETER. I CANNOT EVEN DELETE IOS222, IOS223, IOS249 and IOS250. Your guide says to respeat the DOWNGRADE TO IOS15 STEP, PATCH IOS36 AND RESTORE IOS15. I tried to follow that steps but I believe it threw me into a loop - doing the same thing over and over again. I COULD NOT GET PASS that ANYTITLE DELETER STAGE.
Am I doing something wrong or any ideas how to get to the next stage (right after you delete all those ioses (222, 223, 249 & 250). I'm sorry if this had been asked on this board - but this is my 1st time here and 1st time posting messages.
Any reply would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much for your time and effort.

The guide was taking down because I kept getting PM's about the guide. Also I don't have the time anymore to keep the guide updated with latest mods/apps/firmware that will come out in the future. Sorry for any inconvenience but that is how it rolls at times.
I will not send it to anyone so don't bother PMing me asking for it. Try to find someone else that has saved it to send it to you.
EDIT: I will put the guide back up untill Friday April 16th. After that I t will be taking down. So if you want it then make sure you copy and paste it.

Thanks for the link to the guide, really appreciate it, cant understand why someone would remove a guide after taking the time to make it. Ive made guides before and even though I cant always help or actually care to help they are where I left them for everyone to come and use. I did my best to make it so easy to follow that everyone should be able to without help, as I thought this guide did perfectly. It needs no supervision by the creator to be available I think...
Anyway, now that I have a copy I wont have to come looking for the guide wondering why the hell it keeps moving from place to place, lol. Nice pack by the way whoever threw that together, even though all I needed was the "instructions if you don't have microsoft word.txt" file, really appreciate that.

right i remember when i first used larrys guide it would only upgrade to 4.1 firmware then once modded u could upgrade the firmware within hbc, if you had a wii with 4.2 or above you was directed to a different guide! take it it now works on any firmware minus korean rgions?? if so do i upgrade via wii update to firmware 4.2 then start the soft modding process?

I have tried to download this several times. It gets stuc at 38% or 41% and once I left it over night. Did save the file but its a corrup rar archive. Anyone has this and can email or post it on a better place? I am trying this for the 5th time and its now stuck at 38%. :(
I also agree with the other guy questioning why the guide was removed. I appreciate what larryj did but imho, removing the guide after spending so much time and effort to create it is totally counter productive. PMs for help can be ignored, contact information from the guide can be removed and a warning could be added saying further development on the guide has stopped but removing it??

I downloaded and extracted it fine first time... o.0 If you're still having trouble, I can repack it into smaller archives and email it to you, if you want. ^o^ Just send me your email address in a PM! ^o^ I will send it in 4 different emails, because that was the best I could compress it, seeing as emails will only accept 10mb attachments... -_-'
Larry removed the guide because he was sick of people asking the same questions over and over again, when if you followed the guide to the tee, you shouldn't run into any problems.
