I'm operating on 4.2e with softmod and have bought a new game for a christmas pressie that when played asks me to update before it will play. Do I need to remove the soft mod and if so how? or is there an upgrade softmod I can do to counteract this?

Install Priiloader to block game disc updates.

You can install Priiloader as Larry said, but sometimes the game doesn't always work anyway, even if this hack is in place. What game is it? You may need to use either a different method or install the game's required IOS.

Or you could make a backup of your game. That would require you to rip the wii iso to your computer's hd. Then use brick blocker program to remove the update from the iso. Then burn the iso to a dvd disc and enjoy. Using backups is a good idea so you don't scratch up your original disc, anyway... And why are you using softmods if you aren't playing backup games??
