4.3 softmod

Is there any way that the update to 4.3 can be done without the use of the original game as I am currently running 4.2 and it working fine, however have had a request to do a softmod on 4.3.

Any suggestions

Personally, I didn't know you could softmod 4.3. But if you know how to do it,

1) Use WAD Manager to install IOS80.WAD
2) Use WAD Manager to install systemmenu v513.wad for NTSC, or systemmenu v514. WAD for PAL

Make sure you install the IOS80 first, then the system menu WAD, or you will brick.

Ok...so I'm sort of new at all of this. Several months ago, I installed the custom IOS's and the DVDDumper. A couple days ago, my wife allowed the Wii to update firmware...not knowing that it would pose a problem. We now have firmware 4.2u and the DVDDumper program goes to a black screen and locks up. Will using these files fix this problem for me?

No, these files will get you to 4.3. What you need is a proper softmodding guide for 4.2:

Am still trying to get around that at the moment at the moment the only avenue I am finding is to go down the route of buying the game in order to get the mod going

You don't really have to buy the game, you could borrow it from someone you know or your local video store.

In order to mod a 4.3 virgin system you need SSBB or IJOA.

The only other way possibly around it, is if it was previously modded and it has an application loader forwarder installed to the Wii menu.

HERE is the guide I used to mod a 4.3 virgin Wii (using SSBB).

It shouldn't be deleted.

HBC, Bootmii and cIOS are effected but many of the other channels are not.

The 4.3 guide I linked to has an option for those that have an application Loader forwarder (instead of SSBB/IJ).
