Wii should be arriving soon.

Read the 4.3 Wii Softmod guide. Read it again and again watched some youtube videos.

When I follow the steps outlined in the 4.3 Wii Softmod guide my system should be protected from accident updates via disc or online.

Priiloader will prevent this from what I understand if I enable: Block Disk Update, Block Online Update, No-Delete HAXX,JODI,DVDX,DISC,DISK,RZDx

So there is no way someone who is not aware my Wii is modded can update it correct? Can they still update my firmware via disc with Priiloader installed/enabled?

Second part of my question is since my Wii is a new type I don't think I can install Bootmii as boot2.

4-b-
Press HOME, launch Bootmii
Make a nand backup
Press Power, Power, Power, Reset, Reset (or use gc-controller)
Power = Right, Eject = Left, Reset = Select
Backup your Bootmii files to your PC
sd:\bootmii
sd:\nand.bin
sd:\key.bin
*DON'T LOSE THESE FILES*
Exit to HBC

What good does backing up the NAND and saving it somewhere safe when the Wii system is updated it wipes out the softmods since Bootmii is deleted?

Does it wipe out Priiloader as well?

Trying to go over what can possible go wrong in the future and not have a way to get back from a bricked Wii.

even if you have priiloader blocking updates, there is the chance of bricking, ie power outage during critical IOS install. so if you have a NAND backup, you can have it exactly the way it was before.

and priiloader has the ability to go directly to bootmii IOS. more safety right there.
