Follow the guide.
Make sure you follow the priiloader section and enable the block updates for both game disc and online so you don't accidentally update again (even though I have no idea how someone can accidentally update).
thanks a lot it worked. yeah I made a back up of a game that asked to update so I put it to the side and when my kid got home they put it in the wii and updated it not knowing what the outcome would be.

never ever ever leave New games out in the open when you have kids or people who don`t know anything about softmodding or what updates might do to your wii as you are bound to get your wii either bricked of the softmodding stuffed up > <

Hi, have a hard modded wii that had hb installed, was updated to 4.3 now no hb channel. Tried your guide with no success. Is this because the wii is hard modded? Any ideas would be appreciated. When I put new games in it automatically asks me to update

ummm do you even know the difference between hardmodded and softmodded?
Hardmodded means you have a Chip like Wiikey to play burned games, softmodded means that you just used software to Install things like homebrew and neogamma in order to let you play copied games.
If you have it softmodded (which I am guessing, seeing how you had homebrew) that guide should have worked...unless you did something wrong or skipped something.
Here is a video of another way maybe it will help you more.

Hmmm...i think im in the same boat, except my reason to how I 'accidently' update my wii was because my wii is a japanese wii and i dont know how to read japanese.
Anyone have a resolution to this problem yet?
My wii has a hard modchip (which one, i have no idea. Is there a way to find out without?). After inserting Tom Clancy's Ghost recon (2010)(PAL), my wii did the update and now only original games work and also i cant access the wii systems menu (it give an opera error message).
Many thanks

Ignorant comment and wrong - priiloader will stop updates if you activate the hacks, USB Loaders will absolutely not prevent system updates.

USB Loaders will block game disc updates. Granted it will not block the Wii system update via settings, but you would be dumb to accidentally update using that method.
