All Star Karate black screen

4.2U, cfg USB loader, cios38 rev14.

As soon as I try to play the game it goes to a black screen. I tried to load using hermes 222/223 and 250 and get same black screen every time. Its USA version. any ideas?

try using that ios250 instead. it's a pure ios37 taken from cIOSX_rev19. my MHTri works flawlessly with it. with a google search, your hermes 222 should be v4 with base 38 merged with 37.

and you should be using cIOSX_rev19 instead of rev14.

Is rev19 stable now? can I install ios250 through wad manager without the rev19? if I must, does it install over the top on ios36? any other games use this method?

I remember testing MHTri using 223mload and it working. Does it lockup later in the game?

pure 37 on 250 is completely stable. i've played with my friend online and there was no lockups or glitches. i got the idea from a gbatemp thread i believe. for a safe way to remove the older 250, use dop-mii to erase it, then run wad manager to install the new one. this isn't a guarantee for all star karate, but MHTri works with no problems.

and rev19 was always stable. base 57 is what i use, and all my games still load.
