Are the new Black Wii's modable?

I would like to get a new black Wii, and wondering if I will still be able to mod it to play backups off an external harddrive. I read all the tut's but not sure if the brand new ones are moddable, thank you

I'd am also curious as to the limitations of the external HD to use, what is the maximum size? And does the brand make a difference?

New Wiis with 4.2 are mod-able . But in another thread some is saying he bought a Wii with 4.3 which I kind of doubt . So I guess it depend if the Wii's being supplied to stores are still 4.2 stk or 4.3 .

Well the 4.2 is moddable and the black ones come stock with it as of right now i bought mine about a week ago and it was 4.2
