Hello guys it has been a while that I have not touched my Wii...
I really wanted to try the new mario!
So this is what happened...
Right before trying to play the game I decided to update my WiiKey (first gen)so I download the 1.9x firmware and updated my Wiikey
Imgburned my Mario iso like usual... NOW the disk ask me to update... I was like what the hell its fine! click on update... reboot ask for second update... Click on that and now I get a black screen disk error every time I put a backup disk in my wii...
When I check my Wii syst its at the 4.1U vers...

Help please =)
I really want to play my newest acquisition!

I believe the update has screwed up your wiikey, temporary. If you did not patch New Super Mario Bros, then thats what most likely happend.

you can use the 1.9b recovery disc to revert back to 1.9b and see if that helps. Or try and reflash with 1.9g

Sometime firmware changes can affect what type of discs your wii will read. What type of discs are you using?

Try changing back to the firmware you were running before you updated. If the games work again then that could be your issue. There is a 1.9b recovery disc out for the original wiikey.

What version did you flash up to? Was it 1.9s? If so I would reccommend using the recovery to go back to 1.9b and then flash again to 1.9g and stay there.

You will need to patch the game and even then it may not load off disc for your wiikey unless you softmod your system and use a backup launcher like neogamma. THere are a ton of threads out about getting that game to work as it has extra AP protection included courtesy of Nintendo.
