backup dvd on newer wii, will it or wont work?

is it true that newer Wii cant play dvd backups, you have to play the game only through flash drive or an external hard drive, by which i mean that game can be played only through softmodding on flash drive or external hdd, burning and inserting the backup dvd even on hardmodded newer wii wont be of any use?

yes. new wii's cannot use the dvd drive for backups, hardmod or softmod. besides, usb loading is way faster.

all you have to do is buy the original game discs and rip them to the hard drive.
