Benifits to update firmware?

I have a 3.2u firmware on my wii. I installed home brew, backup loader, neogamma, and usb loader gx a good while back. Ive kind of been out of the scene for about a year or so. I recently soft modded a 4.2u version and so far working great. While I was at it I updated my 3.2u version as far as the home brew stuff, but is there a need to update this firmware. Ive read about the safe updater that are available, but if Im able to run new games, is their any real benefits to updating the firmware. ex. playing online or something like that I may have not thought about?

Use Dop-mii and install the ios' needed
