I want to buy one guitar that will work for all games. Which guitar should I buy and where is a cheap place to buy it from. i have been looking for the gh3 les paul but I can't find it anywhere that is reasonable.

Yes stay with the Guitar Hero Stuff for all around compatibility. Rock Band Has since RB2 included GH instruments as compatible.
I can not find the link at the Guitar Hero Web sight but first hand
I have both the Les Paul and the GH:WT Guitars and the GH:WT Drums
They of course all work on GH games

As well as with my RB2 Disk. I remember that GH stuff was not compatible with the ACDC Track Pack of RB1 game.
