Hi there. A few days ago I wanted to softmod my wii so I used tried a tutorial which I read here on this forum. In the end I had HBC and some kind of backuploader on my SM (4.1E) but I couldn't load backups from it. (I have another wii and on that one every disc just works fine!)
So I tried allot of other things and now I'm at the point that I cannot even load a thing neither from the "data management>Channels>SD" as from the HBC. I think something is wrong with IOS.
So I thought to just remove the HBC and reinstall it all over. But I can't because I cannot load it from anywhere. When it asks me to load boot.dol/elf it gives me a black screen after hitting 'A'.

Is there someone who has any idea what I can do?

:(

Do you have the boot.dol file at the root of the SD card so bannerbomb can run it?

I would recomend following either the 4.1 or 4.2 softmod guide in my sig.

Try updating to firmware 4.2 and follow the 4.2 softmod guide in my sig.

If you still can not play backup disc after following the guide then there is a good chance you have 1 of the new drives that can not play backup disc. If this is the case you will need to use a USB Loader.

And there is no way getting my Wii to 4.2 then by the nintendo update?

No it will not brick your Wii.

it is perfectly fine to use the Wii System Menu update to update to 4.2 firmware. Do you think I would have told you to do it if it was going to brick your system?
