hi, my friend had softmii and a bunch of other stuff installed on his wii, he tried playing ashes 2009 through the disk channel, it asked for an update, he clicked no and then the game startd , the screen then turned black with nothing on it, when he tried again he turned on his wii and it was black. what should he do? would nintendo take it back and repair it?

If he said NO to the update then they should have been rerouted back to the Wii menu the game shouldn't have started.

Can they still get into Preloader (Hold down RESET while turning on the system)?

he tried that but didn't work ( he does have preloader installed). luckily he bought the wii like 6 months ago and still has a warranty so he's gonna try and send it back to see if they'll fix it, would they? as i've heard if u chip ure wii then nintendo won't take it back, does that apply if u've softmodded it?

If they find out yes they will charge him. All he can do is try and see what they say.
