Bootmii

I am still trying to work through my bootmii as boot2 issues. If bootmii as boot2 is on my wii I can not tell. Although one time I saw the screen where you can back up your nand and I have not done anything to the wii since, but I do not know how I got there or how to get back.

When I turn on my wii, bootmii2 should start up correct?

I should be safe to just reinstall bootmii2 correct?
I should be able to do that and nothing else correct? I will not have to downgrade, restore and patch the iso?s correct?

If I install bootmii as an iso, it will be on my homebrew channel, maybe that would be a better option for me?

Firmware 4.0

The only way I can use a usb loader is to upgrade to firmware 4.0 correct?
Are load times shorter loading games off of a usb harddrive?

I no longer have update to 4.0 on my sd card through the HBC. What happened to that program? WTF is going on?

You need to deal with one problem at a time as I think you are both confused and frustrated.

What happens when you remove the SD card? Does bootmii show up? If you have it installed, there is no need to reinstall it. You are better off with bootmii installed as boot2. Preloader or a similar patch is a requisite to be able to get into Bootmii IOS.

You don't need to update to 4.0 to be able to use USB loaders. Just make sure you have cIOS38 Rev14.

that's how bootmii works; you MUST HAVE the sd card in the slot with the bootmii files.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .

Below is the icon for the bootmii.ini. You can find this file in the bootmii folder in the root directory of your SD card (SD card=>bootmii folder).

Open the file using Notepad. Find SYSMENUBOOTDELAY as shown below and put a value other than 0. Afterwards, click File and then Save. Now, take your SD card and insert it in the front slot. Turn on your Wii. Bootmii should appear; the delay depends on the value you put in the bootmii.ini file. In any case, Wii should load the System Menu when boot delay lapse.

my folder looks a little different then yours mine looks like like this;

# BootMii config file

# Video mode, possible settings:
# NTSC, PAL50, PAL60, PROGRESSIVE
VIDEO=NTSC

# Autoboot, possible settings:
# SYSMENU, HBC
#AUTOBOOT=SYSMENU

# Autoboot delay, in seconds:
# Default is 5
#BOOTDELAY=5

so I am going to do bootdelay= no
correct?

No. I meant a number. Do you have an NTSC Wii?

Put 5. Don't put no or zero. I said to put a value other than 0. Also, that no. is an abbreviation for number.

I tried 2 then 1 neither worked. I confirmed the file was saved and changed. I can hear the wii checking the sd card and the screen sort of blinks, but nothing happens.

Downlad this file. Drag and drop the boot.dol, icon.png and meta.xml files onto your desktop. Next, create a new folder and name it Bootmii Configuration Editor. Take the boot.dol, icon.png and meta.xml files and put it inside this folder. Now, place this folder in the apps folder that is in the root of your SD card. Take your SD card and put it in your Wii. Fire up HBC. You should see Bootmii Configuration Editor there. Boot it. It should be relatively easy to use. This app will let you edit the boot delay in the boot.ini file. Let me know if you encounter any other problems along the way.

alright now if I start up the wii with the sd card in it does not get stuck on a black screen like before. it will go to the regulatr wii start screen. I was able to go to the bootmii settings using the HBC. I was able to switch the delay. The delay didn't matter it would always go to the regular wii start up screen.

Open bootmii.ini again in Notepad. Make yours look exactly like shown below, removing # before AUTOBOOT=SYSMENU and BOOTDELAY=5. This means that Bootmii screen will flash, and then autoboot to the System Menu in 5 seconds.

# BootMii config file
# Created by bootmii config editor

# Video mode, possible settings:
# NTSC, PAL50, PAL60, PROGRESSIVE
VIDEO=NTSC

# Autoboot, possible settings:
# SYSMENU, HBC
AUTOBOOT=SYSMENU
BOOTDELAY=5

# BootMii config file

# Video mode, possible settings:
# NTSC, PAL50, PAL60, PROGRESSIVE
VIDEO=NTSC

# Autoboot, possible settings:
# SYSMENU, HBC
AUTOBOOT=SYSMENU
BOOTDELAY=3

above are my settings. The # were not there when I went into it this time. I guess they changed when I used the config editor. There is no difference when I boot the wii, it goes to the regular wii start up screen.

I am all out of ideas. Just reinstall bootmii altogether using the Hackmii installer.
