Hello to all who can help on this issue.
I have modded many other video game systems in the past and decided to do my Wii tonight. Following the BootMii beta 2 and getting the right updates going, everything was working fine. Now looking into the Any region changer and poof, it dies.
Any region changer was installed and I think it downgraded the system? Then the menus I followed by the guide and also chose to set "Enable" on auto region for the Wii, GC titles.
Reset...
All I get is a black screen now with 4.01 (USA) in the lower right corner. No safety menus, no channels. It will auto boot a Wii title [original] no GC games. I cannot even exit out of the Wii game to the menu without going back to the 4.01 logo in the beginning.
Does anyone know how to get out of this using software?
All I have is the data from the original install, this all happened within 1 hour. I cannot afford a new Wii in times like these and someone should have an idea.
First off the guides didn't brick your system. The guides work perfectly fine if you followed them like you should. So don't blame the guides for your brick.
Try to explain what you did more clear. It is kind of confusing.
What it looks like you did was use the NEW AND IMPROVED SOFTMOD GUIDE to softmod your system.
Did everything work fine with that?
Then I would assume you used the guide to boot Backups from disc channel?
When doing that guide did you install Preloader .29?
Can you load the Preloader menu by holding the reset button down as you turn on the system?
I have pretty much the same problem and I'm able to load systemmenu but I cant reinstall anything because I'm not able to sync my wiimote :( please help
I apologize for all the confusion. This type of hack is much different than others in the past and trying to figure out what goes where and who is what. I did figure out that the "Enable" settings locked me out of my Wii. By holding the reset button at the power up. The menu for the AllRegion appeared and I reset everything. Now I am back and running on HBC.
I trying hard to force myself to learn more, I just wish there was a break down of what is current and what I need.
I did all those steps and it worked. Now i get the blackscreen and my wiimotes cant be synced. I can boot into de homebrew channel but I cant excecute preloader 29 or the wad manager because they require me to use a wiimote and they don't respond to the GC controller. Please help!! any idea?? is there any other way? I even installed geckoOS and it doesn't boot games or channels
I have tried that. What I get is this:
* Turn on Wii - corrupted screen
* Hold reset and menu appears for the 4 icons "Wii/HBC/MS/Utility"
* If I try to go to Wii it goes back to the corrupt screen.
* Any game will not play.
* I can get into the HBC and utility and use a Wiimote.
*Is there any way to reset and start over?
Also installing the CISO from a Mac. The Mac I have running OSX 10.5.7 and the SD card is a PNY 2.0 Gig stick formatted FAT32. ANY files I transfer to the stick from the Mac will create a duplicate file as a catalog style reference file. It has no KB to it but, they put an underscore before everything. So, xxxx.wad will also have _xxxx.wad. this shows up in the Wad manager and when the CISO install went, it loaded each OS and errored on the 2nd which is the mac file. I hope this is not causing problems.
