hi guys (and girls offcourse),

i may have a stupid question:

does my wii have to be modified to read self-burned dvd's?

i have tried to burn an iso-file to dvd. first i used Nero 9 and the second time i've used Imgburn.
The iso-file has been burned correctly to the DVD but when I put the DVD into my wii it says "disk can't be read"

I bought my wii just a couple of days ago so it's all new for me.
I hope someone outthere can help me.

you need to get a mod chip or soft mod it so yes it needs to be modified.

if you are planning to get a mod chip there are several online including wiikey 2, d2 and much more just google it.

if you dont want to use this route you can softmod it. Check your system first to see what it is. If your wii is new and its Usa its probably 4.1 usa, if not it might be 4.0. Read the tutorials here to soft mod im not going to go through it. Youll need installation files as well as an SD card. Install homebrew channel via bannerbomber and then use wad manager to install patches for 4.1 or 4.0.
