I am trying to burn my wii iso images to disk. I have used three different types media including verbatim. I have used imgburn and activeiso with the same results everytime. They appear to burn and verify with no problem. After I burn and I check the disk it shows 0 bytes free and 0 bytes used. I am waisting to many disks trying to figure this out on my own. I have looked for a solution with no luck. Also when I try to change book type I get the error "invalid field in CDB" with imgburn. Can anyone guide me to a forum or give me any info to help. Thanks in advance.

All those words and you have not told us the important things, like.
Does it play in your Wii?
How is your Wii modded?
Have you verified that your mod is good with a known good backup disk?

No it does not play in wii
I have a softmod 4.2U
I get the error (1167) when trying to load the disk with neogamma r8
neogamma will load disks burnt correctly on my wii
also my burner works properly buring data on the dvds just not the images

my burners firmware/driver is upgraded

save the hassles, and switch to a usb loader.

Am I correct by saying I need to get any 300 gig usb external hard drive then load them off it. Or do I need a certain brand hard drive

I using the Configurable USB loader that Larrylje talk on his guide.
And i got a Western Digial 500 gig, but it's to much!!! You don't need that kind of space.
Everything is going well.
So switch to that technology.
I got in the HDD about 40 games and it takes about 120 gig.

usb configurable loader make sure you have done hermies 222/223update(for guitar hero all of themband hero and some other newer games) only game i have so far that does not work on it is Tom Clancy splinter cell double agent which needs ios patcher 1.1 and patch to ios 249 and burn to disk dvd-r with img burn at 2x4 speed. i have about 156 games and its over 400gb im using a seagate 1TB hard drive, first partition 2GB FAT active with all the stuff i want to boot like configurable USB loader, 2 partition WBFS for the wii games

You will need "configurable usb loader" app on your sd card in the app folder . You need to format your passport to WBFS format . You can do this by plugging you passpost to your wii usb port closest to the edge . Then run "configurable usb loader" from the homebrew channel and it should ask to format to WBFS select yes . To load the games to the passport you will need a program call "WBFS MANAGER" installed on your pc .

You don't have to format to WBFS if you use CFG loader "cfg56-222" it loads games from a FAT partition. That is how I'm running my Loader with the apps fold on the Hard drive and a forwarder channel. I then don't need a SD card in the system or I just keep my Music Game DLC SD Card in the slot (YOU MUST USE THE DISK TO USE DLC PROPORLY) the wii memory is not cleared if playing DLC when loaded from the USB Drive. Just my two cents there are option out there CFG USBloader is my favorite because that is the one that I have now. I did start with Cover-Flow it work too but CFG USBloader seems to be the one with the most support and options now.

you can have the first partition on hard drive as fat32 active for the files you use on the sd card like usb configurable loader, and second partition as WBFS works well on my seagate 1TB (no need for sd card you can then use the sd card to move channels to it to boot off like you do off the wii channels

Is there any real advantage with keeping the games on a WBFS partition? Really if the hole drive was Fat32 you could still do the above. With a 1T drive partitioning would sill be advised in case something where to go astray and a quick reformat is in order. Then you would not lose your games.

capple123 you are right you could have your apps and games on one fat partition . The onlys advantage to WBFS I know of is with WBFS manager it shrinks the file size so it takes up less space on the drive .

How much smaller? Even with my Fat32 drive games range average from .5G to 2G and the full 4+G for Rhythm based game like guitar hero. I just looked at SMG2 its at 1.29G. I don't want to fight about it but if it is true that WBFS shrinks them even more then I may switch as well.
