Can't load up Wii GC Backup Laucher

I tried following the guides and stuff i find searching but i can't get my backup launcher to read the files. I created a "apps" folder on the root of my SD card and placed each folder individually inside that apps folder, then when i run the backup launcher on the wii, i get a blank screen. I then placed a different app i previously installed in the same "apps" folder next to all the downloaded folder, and loaded the Backup launcher, and now instead of a blank screen i only get the icon of that particular app.
