Can Wiikey 1.99beta work with update 4.3U?

I have an old hard-modded WiiKey v1 running update 1.9s on a Wii 4.2U system. I don't run any homebrews - just backups of NSMB and SMG2, which have both been stable on this setup.

I was wondering if anyone has upgraded to 4.3U and whether it blocks running backups. I know that NSMB crashed on Wiikey 1.9g when I accidentally upgraded to 4.2U, and I waited several months before Wiikey 1.9s came out.

Again, I only run CD/DVD backups of games, no homebrew channel.
