i'm very new at this... I've obtain a few WiiPAL WBFS files and wanted to know if I can patch them to convert to NTSC WBFS? I have two Wii's. One is hard mod with the WiiKey 2 and the other is soft mod with HBC on it. I didnt do either one of the mods so I dont know what I need to do to make it play. I read online that with the 4.3u Wii update I cant play it on the hard mod Wii after conversion because it will still be in PALISO right? I used Wii Game Manager v1.5 to convert the wbfs to iso but it wont play on either Wii... I was ensured that the file is good but just cant get it to play... Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated...
If your wii is past 4.1 system menu then the option of playing out of region games was removed by Nintendo.
If you play games from a Hard Drive then this does not matter as the loader can patch the games on boot, this works for 99% of games.
If you are playing them from disc then you will need to bypass this on the Softmod wii - turn the wii off, press the power button then immediately press and hold the reset button. Does priiloader show up (usually a white screen with options) if it does at the bottom of the page is hacks and you can enable region free.
If you are burning to disc then you need to get the right discs (can't remember if its + or - R google will help) Verbatium get good reviews, the disc needs to be burnt slowly) also it may need to be patched again google will help.
Look at softmodding both wii's and use a hard drive, this is the best way to go.
I understand about the 4.1 system update... My hard modWii is already at 4.3u & my soft mod Wii is at 4.1u... Thats why i wanted to know if you could remove region while its in wbfs format before converting it to iso to burn onto disk... I use the correct disk that my wii can play backups... DVD media isnt the issue for me... If its even possible to remove region in wbfs format, what program is recommended?? Thanks in advance
My soft modWii has Backup Disk Channel, HBC, USBLoaderCFG, and Backup HBC on it... Again I didnt do the mod myself so I dont know what it can do or what backups it can play. It does have the dvd drive in it that can play DVD media, unlike the new Wii's. Can I load the wbfs file onto a USB flash drive and play from that? I dont have a HDD yet but I do have many USB flashdrive laying around... Also can you play Wii game from the console's SD card slot?
Softmod - to run a game from the SD card look at CFG loader as I believe this works (do not use it myself)
From a USB drive - yes as long as it is compatible (not all USB / Hard Drives are compatible - google " wii usb compatibility list" needs to be in the USB slot closest to the edge of the Wii.
