cant get iso image for wii games to work

i have tried to burn an iso to disc 10 times but none of them will work.
i use imgeburn at 4x speed onto a verbatim dvd-r
do i need homebrew channel or a specific dvd writer
my wii has a modchip and is a pal european wii the iso i have downloaded is a european pal iso

any help would be greatly appreciated but please be patient as i am new to game copying and forums

1. Which game is it? (Some games do not work on hardmodded Wiis)

2. Did you try another .iso or do you know for a fact that this .iso is good?

tried two different isos it was new super mario how do you check if they are good

Read the threads in this forum about NSMB. There are specific issues with this game and it may not be playable with a modchip.
