ok im very tired but want to post this now so when i get up i can fix it before work (been at this and my psp for 3 hours lol)

now i havent used the wii in months (when the new supermario came out) its system menu is 3.2 its british it has a chip and it has the latest (updated today) homebrew channel

ok i installed cfg loader (after setting the config for fat32 and usb)
i placed a couple of games on the hd using backup manager
i loaded it up and tried to load a game (they showed up fine)
it said i needed cios222 or cios223 to play from fat
so off i went and googled
i found a guide http://gwht.wikidot.com/hermes-ios222-223
since i already have homebrew channel and 249 rung bells i just did ;
Quote:
Installation procedure

1. Remove all GameCube memory cards and controllers.
* This step is very important. Do not ignore it .
2. UnRAR uloader_v3.0C.rar and copy the apps/cios_installer/ directory to sd:/apps/
3. Start HomeBrew Channel and start the cIOS 222 Installer
4. Read the warning message and push A
5. Select IOS249 to perform the install with D-pad left/right and push A
6. Select to Install Custom IOS 222 and select IOS38 merged with IOS37
7. Wait for download and installation to complete
8. Start HomeBrew Channel and start the cIOS 222 Installer again
9. Select IOS249 to perform the install again
10. This time select Custom IOS 223 and select IOS38 merged with IOS60
* IOS223 gives you an alternative option for merged IOS in this way. It is exactly the same as IOS222 otherwise.
i then tried again to load the game and again it told me to get 222 or 223
so i looked at the options for the game and changed 249 to 222(or 223 cant renember) and it loaded ah ha!

but upon looking at setting default for 222 or 223 i discovered there is multiple revisions of 249 and rev18 or higher is recommanded

soheres my question how do i find out what rev im on and how do i update it to rev 18 or higher ?

also any tips for me?

thanks and sorry for the rambling if there is any

Okay, so I figured out your error. The .zip you downloaded of CFG should have included a file called "cfg56-222.dol". Move that to the apps > USBLoader folder, delete the existing "boot.dol" and then rename this one to "boot.dol". Let me know if it works.

With the latest cIOSx Rev 19 out, theres no need to install Hermes or change the .dol file.

The README states as much but I'm perfectly happy with rev14 right now.

if you want to find out your current IOS249 in configurable, go to the global options page (press 1 twice). it will show your current IOS on the bottom.

and if you want to update IOS249, either use cIOS38_rev17 or cIOSX_rev19.
