Ok so i have a virgin wii . . . bout it about a year ago didnt use it for half the year . . . I UPDATED IT by accident not knowing that i can softmod it . . . now i have 4.2U i succesfully installs the HBC and now i want to run the wad manger + usb loader Gx but when i try to install Cios (WAD installation) IOS38 i get an error ret = - 2011 also . . . i can run wad Manager but cant get trough the installation Retrieving file list ERROR! (ret = -1)

Your ISO249 may be the culprit?
Try installing under another cIOS in Wadmanager.

the_rob has the correct response, but it's not THAT easy.

I had to do this yesterday when I deleted IOS249 by mistake.

It takes about 20 minutes to do this properly. I do not link to other guides as a matter of practice.

Google "GAF install IOS249"

4.2 firmware will delete any custom IOS and stub IOS222, IOS223, IOS249 and IOS250 so no other custom IOS can be installed to it.

However there is a work around.

You will need to downgrade IOS15 patch IOS36 and restore IOS15 first (this will add the trucha bug back into the system so you can do the rest of the steps). Then you will run AnyTitleDeleter and delete IOS222, IOS223, IOS249 and IOS250 so you can then install custom IOS back to it.

Follow the 4.2 softmod guide in my sig to do these steps.
