Okay obviously I have a Wii softmodded right now. It is a 3.4U firmware. I have had no problems with it. I use Wiiflow 2.1 to play my games off a hard drive.
Anyway, as I'm sure has been discussed, in order to play COD Black Ops online now, you need to get some kind of update. And in order to get that update, you have to go to the wii shop channel. And when I go to the wii shop channel, my Wii tells me to update my firmware, which I obviously don't want to do and lose my softmod, forcing me to go buy Lego Indiana Jones.
Anyway, I've already done searches, and found ways to update my Wii shop channel though a .wad... I did that, but it still for some reason doesn't work. I have had one of two things happen every time I've tried to use the channel. 1: It just tells me I still need to update my sytem, or 2: It tries to load the channel, and then goes back to the Wii home screen, doing nothing else.
I admit to not being the most knowledgeable in regards to this stuff, so can someone walk me through what I need to do, if it is even possible. I have searched here but I haven't seen this problem mentioned. If it has been in another thread, I apologize.
