I am about to connect my wii to a usb ethernet connector and onto net for first time and am now just recently using a usb loader having installed Bannerbomb abd6a_v200.zip and re-installing IOS 249 and Hermes Cios 222/223.

When I plug the cable in what will I need to do to make sure that nintendo dont just upgrade me and remove all of my mods?

Nintendo won't automatically update you. There will be a pop-up asking you if you would like to update. You can back out of the update, but I don't think you could proceed if you didn't.

So obviously i dont want to update so what options do I have?

Mind you at present I am on 4.2e so hopefully shouldnt ask...

Just want to download the covers for games that are in usb loader

4.2 is the latest firmware there shouldn't need to be an update, if there is it's probably some stuff that no one needs anyway. If you just want to get the covers you can download them onto your computer, you don't need to download them to the wii, however you will be able to play online. If there is a modchip installed you could still play backups, however your softmods will be removed. Your modchip will still be okay.

hmm dont wnat to remove soft mods....

So how do I download covers to get onto usb loader then please - sorry just tried every setting and cany seem to find any options, is it a matter of just puttin a jpg into each game folder or something different?

download the covers from wiitdb.com, copy to your sd card. I don't remember which goes where off the top of my head.

They are .png files and not .jpg.
