We purchased a Wii game overseas recently and got NTSC format instead of PAL.

I've googled and found instructions to use wiigionfree.jar to convert the game to our region.

When I've tried to use this file, I am unable to see any files in my CD/DVD drive to select as the 'input file'.

Would you please tell me what I need to do?

Thank you in advance,

more info...

I'm not sure if this is relevant but we are using our Wii as a standalone and do not have it connected to the internet.

Cheers

Wiigionfree only works on iso files . Regular drives (non lg-(specific models)) will not be able to read wii disc . If your wii was modded you could use WiiDumper to rip the game via wifi then use Wiigionfree . Then again if your Wii were modded region wouldnt be an issue .

PS edit your title to "Convert NTSC games to PAL" as its against AD rules to have a title "PLS HELP"

If you mess around with the iso chances are you'll need it fakesigned, which cannot be read on a unmodded wii.

is modding when you get a chip put in the console? (sorry for dumb questions...)

what sort of cost does this involve for Australia?

is it just one chip or is there a choice - and if so, how do you choose the right chip?

A modchip does allow you to boot region-free games, however the modding me & RastaDave are talking about is softmodding, where you use free software, downloadable from the internet to mod your wii. Depending on your wii's firmware version you can follow different guides for softmodding.

Also, if your wii is lower than 3.3, you can use this:

You cannot use freeloader, then. If you want the easy way, just get rid of the game & buy it in your own region & save yourself the trouble. The hard way would be to softmod your wii.

you can keep the games and play them, but you will need to softmod your wii to use configurable usb loader.

bannerbomb is the most simple way to get there.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .
