D2Pro9 w/Clip Dvd Wont work - Help! Confused

As the title says I installed a D2Pro9 with Wii Clip on my Wii. Before I closed it back up I tested it. It worked great!, closed it up then tested again it didn't work! Opened it up check the cables etc it worked again, closed no workie! open work, close no work... finally I assembled it while running to see if I could pin point the problem and it worked. plugged it in today and its not spinning again.

What am I doing wrong?

I couldn't find any posts to help me. I know I should have done the soft mod but I put $50 into the chip I want it to work...

Put tape over the soldering points and modchip. Make sure nothing is causing a short when you put the system back together.

I did.
I put the tape on the back and the cardboard thingie that came with the clip. I have put it back together with the case screws loose and it seems to be working.
