Dvd Playback on Wii

I been searching and found many methods for dvd playback on the wii through the softmod. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for what method works the best? I would really like to install a wad that provided a channel and a nice GUI for playing dvd movies. I would rather not launch a app from the sd card every time. Any ideas on the best?

Short answer: None of them. The wii is not designed to play DVD's and even softmodded it will not do it well. A $30 DVD generic brand DVD player will outperform the wii when it comes to DVD playback.

That's true, but that doesn't mean a wii cannot play DVDs at all. It can, but it wears down the optical laser a lot faster than anything else.

I provided a WAD to someone for this a long time ago, all you need to do is install DVDX using the Hackmii Installer, then install the MPlayer Channel WAD, found here ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNGBHEcAht0 ) using WAD Manager.
