DVD Rom for backing up wii games

I don't know if there have been any changes, but I was looking to get a dvd rom to backup my games. I know the ones that worked in the past were gdr8161 thru gdr8164 but only for certain firmware versions. Is there somewhere that I can download one of the working firmware versions? Found a few on ebay, but no firmware version info is available. It is a HITACHI LG HP GDR-8163B. Anyone know if you can flash the necessary firmware to this, if so, where is it available? Thanks.
