Just wondering, is there specific external HDD that the Wii will read faster? Is it that as long as the HDD are capable of USB 2.0, it'll be the same speed? Does the size of the HDD matter? What about rpm? Is it the high the rpm, the better the read speed? I have 7200 rpm, and what about MB cache, I have 32 MB cache, that beats 16 MB cache, right? What about the external HDD that uses power cord vs. the one that you just plug in with no external power source?
Basically I have 500 GB 7200 rpm 32 mb cache, if I find out that I could get faster speed by switching to a different HDD that has the specific specs optimized for speed, I'll buy one with that specific spec.
i've been using a WD scorpio black. 320gigs, 16mb cache, 7200rpm. only need one usb cable to power everything, since it's 2.5"
if you really want to max out the usb port, get a SSD. it'll kill the wallet, but with no moving parts, and insane read speeds, there will practically be no stutters.
