Hi all
I seem to be missing something here and need a bit of help.
I've just softmodded my wii which went fine :), but i'm now going to install USB loader gx and was just wondering how to format the usb hdd i see fat32 or wbfs both work. If i'm not mistaken if i format in fat32 i won't be able to put 95% of games on it as they are bigger then 4gb or is there a way round this.

If you use Fat32 then the files are split into 2 parts automatically by either the loader or the game manager you use to transfer the games onto the drive.
Avoid wbfs if you are setting up from new, as this cannot be directly seen by a PC, recovery in the case of a corruption is more difficult and defragmenting is not as simple.
Either NTFS or Fat32 are stable, if you have an old version of a loader then NTFS may not work as this is the latest format to be added.

WBFS is completely stable. and it's not a problem when you have the original discs at hand, which you should have already. and all you need on the computer is WBFS manager. no one should be touching the drive but you, in the first place.
FAT32 primary partition and WBFS secondary keeps everything on one drive. no need for an SD card, and forwarders are able to pick up external drives.

bad drive, bad enclosure, bad usb port. lots of factors.
i've been using WBFS since the start of usb loaders, and it NEVER failed me.

so! i have an external harddrive, 1 terabyte, i have half in the NTFS format and the other in fat32, i did this because I WAS TOLD that if you wanted to load wii ISO´s from a harddrive it has to be from a fat32 harddrive. now with this discussion it seems that the NTFS would still work no? it seems a little confusing and the thing about not being able to transfer more than 4 gb to a fat32 is a pain, thats why i need to find wii scrubber right? can someone send me an email to aliwatts@msn.com explaining a little about what format my Wii ISO´s should be in to load via USB and where to get Wii scrubber? thanks a lot! laters guys.

FAT32 ONLY drive keeps everything on one drive and NO EXTRA partition. No need for an SD card, and forwarders are able to pick up external drives.
Plus other homebrew apps have full access to the drive, where a WBFS partition would be limited to Wii Game Backup only. To me having the full drive available for all homebrew apps is the better choice.
@seabreeze71
Use Wii Backup Manager to convert the ISO Wii Game Files to WBFS files (if the game is over 4GB it will split the WBFS in 2 parts).
