My friend's wii had the homebrew channel on it and his little brother updated the wii, the wii bricked. He asked me if I could figure out a way to fix it, can any of you help me out?

well, you failed to provide the info, so how do we know what the problem is? is it strictly a black screen? did he have boot2 bootmii installed? did he have preloader installed?

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .

I have a bricked wii as well and can't seem to get anything going again. It may be dead dead, but just thought I'd check with someone who might be able to help before getting a new one.

When I boot, it comes up to a black screen only. Preloader v0.29 was installed and it used to boot to that screen directly when I'd power up the wii. Now, I get nothing. I was using menu system 4.1. I tried bootmii, but it wouldn't allow a second boot config. I have a nand backup, but can't get to any screen to do anything. Not sure if you need any other details.

I've tried holding in the reset button for 10 seconds, and I get nothing.

With or without the card, I get nothing. I don't know if I purchased a savemii or wiikey or anything like that, would help. Any info you have would be wonderfully appreciated. If my wii is dead dead, that's cool too. It sucks, but at least I'll know. Thanks for your time and any recommendations!
