Hi,i have managed to brick my wii it is on 4.1E and has a d2pro plus wii clip installed.I initially bricked it at 3.4E but used the game cube controller method to run the update from new super mario assuming this would fix the problem but it is just the same but now comes up 4.1E. Is there another disc i can use to unbrick my wii using the same game cube controller method?
A second idea i have is to buy a brand new wii and swap the drive and chip from the bricked wii into the new one will this work?
thanks

for most mod chips there is a system config disk you can update your wii to fix all bricks. I know there is one for the wiikey youll have to check for one on the d2pro plus clip.

As for the swapping disk thing it will work. I have tested it and done this. However, returning wii's are a problem now that most game stores check very carefully. For the newer model wiis there are blocks against chips with epoxy or chip recofigurations. I would give it a shot anyways.

how did you brick it? banner brick(bad wad installed)if you have a drive chip and its a banner brick, use this uudv2 disc to start up wad manager from the disc. http://rapidshare.com/files/245431510/UUDv2.rar
1.use savemii free(gamecube pad) to start wii in recovery mode so you get your firmware in bottom right corner of screen.
2.insert the universal unbrick disc(link above)and use a wii pad to navigate the sd card
3.find the bad wad you installed and press the - botton to unistall it.
4.press the home botton to restart your wii and all should be working fine again

hope this helps

Hi,it is a low level brick as the screen is totally black and as far as i can tell i need to try and get a disc with an update that is higher than 4.1E.Like i said before i have used the game cube controller method and can get the firmware version 4.1E in the bottom right corner of the screen and i have a D2pro chip.Does the link you gave me help with a low level brick and if not can sombody please tell me a way to fix this problem. Also can anyone confirm that switching the disc drive (including the d2pro chip that is clipped to the security chip)will work as i do not want to buy a new wii for no reason as i know that new wiis have epoxy on the security chip making the clip unusable.I think i bricked the wii by putting in a jap version of mario party 8 after discovering that freeloader no longer worked after i updated to 3.4E
thanks

yeah i had a low level brick, just black screen nothing.the unbrick disc worked for me. i installed a bad wad, and as the disc loads in to wad manager i simply uninstalled the bad wad that caused brick. as for swaping the disc drive it is posible in most cases but an older disc drive might not work on a newer release wii as there have been changes down the line,DMS, D2A, D2B, D2C, D2C-2 and D2E chipsets.

the d2c chips etc work on the disc drive, so it is possible to swap disc drives to different wii.
