Game disc cannot be read?????

Any help here would be great...
I have a chipped wii with homebrew installed, however all the back up games are giving the "game disc cannot be read error", but, if I keep on ejecting and inserting the disc they will eventually run, sometimes for hours, but sometimes only for seconds. As originals work fine I tried a air cleaner, but no help, I am using Verbatim discs burnt at 2x. SMG2 WORKED FINE IN NEOGAMMA FOR THE FIRST FEW DAYS BUT NOW IS A PAIN IN THE ARSE, Any ideas???
Also would a USB loader fix this???
