Can anyone clarify my confusion please??

I am currently a hard-mod user and after reading many discussions think that I should soft-mod with homebrew channel and run the games from a portable hdd, eliminate possible out of region issues etc? Save burning dvd's etc

Will they work together correctly?

Am I approaching this the right way? - I am so confused

learning the ropes can be harder than you first thought, especially when you have butter fingers!

You can have a modchip inside the wii at the same time as softmodding your wii.

My Wii is just like this you wont have any poroblems with having the 2 together, they wont conflict with each other etc

I'm not sure if I already have a problem. A backup I have works on a friends machine that has the same modchip but wont load on mine....

If when it loads the backup, the screen goes black does that mean it's "bricking" my wii??

If you're still here, you can check your wii's firmware by entering the settings menu & it will be displayed on the top-right corner of your screen.

Family Party 30 Great Games is a 3.1 update, so to make it work you'd have to install IOS33-64-v1040 using WAD Manager. I don't know what update Link's Crossbow Training has, though.
