ok i tried making my own WAD file for gecko os 1.9.3 using wadder 3.0.

i made the WAD, used WADmanager to install it using the default setting.

if i can remember ios249, nand emulation off, load from sd card, gecko.wad <<the one i made. the wii restarted and now just black screen.

what do i do ?!?!?!

it was on 4.1 FW, i have a wiikey2 modchip, as far as i can tell its a banner brick / black brick.

i dont have a gamecube controller or a wii "classic" controller, but will be getting one so i can modify the joystick.

i have UUDv2.

i cant find UUDv3

will a wii "classic controller' work (when modded) to unbrick the wii?

every site i look on they all use old genuine gamecube controllers

I think only GC will work. never heard anyone using a classic controller.

So you where screwing with making your own WAD files and didn't have Bootmii or Preloader installed? That is just sad.

yes...yes it is.

i obviously installed it into the wrong ios.

where do most channels get installed to?

249 is wadmanagers default.

will be going out to try and get an old genuine GC controller today.

*******UPDATE**********

well i got a Genuine GameCube controller from e.b.a.y.

cost $30AU inc p&h so not too bad i guess.

took it apart, but instead of breaking the pin of the D-Pad i just held all 4 directions down while someone turned the wii on. the UUDv2 disk was already in the drive and booted up wad manager 1.3

luckily i still had the bad WAD file on the SD card and was able to uninstall it.

everything good now.

I have gone and updated my WiiKey2 with the new 1.3 Odyssey FW. and have enabled "disable all region updates" so the "System Update" icon is removed from the Disc Channel.
