Hello all

I am rather a newbie to the wii modding scene. I hope you can help with a problem I am having with homebrew. Backup games work well. Obviously I do not want to autoupdate.

My wii details are:
Hard mod. D2C2Pro chip
Menu 3.4
Home Brew v1.06
IOS 36 rev12.18 (got from HBC menu page)
I have installed one App (MPlayerCE v0.75) which is working well

But I get error ret -2011 if
1)I try to install opera.wad via WADManager (1.5 or 1.4 or 1.1).I get the error right after the .wad file starts being installed.
or
2)when using cIOSRev14Installer. I get error -2011 at the very end of the install process which is aborted (I have IOS38-64-v3610.wad in root of SD).

I have also tried to use WiiSCU to activate the Shopping channel to try to dl Opera from there but WiiSCU runs and aborts at the end.

I think I am missing something which is causing these problems.

Try using my softmod guide in my sig.

Do the SD card preparation part of the guide. You can skip the HBC part since you have it already. So just do the Downgrade IOS15, Patch IOS36, Restore IOS15 and cIOS38_rev14 section of the guide.

After that you should be able to install WAD files.

I have now applied the softmod (as per Larrylje guide).

Worked fine (thanks Larryjle) except there was an unexpected side effect: the HBC screen went upside down (after Patch IOS36 step).

Reading around it looks like uninstalling the HBC and reinstalling via Hackmii in HBC should do it (see recent post by Pryme_H)

Before I proceed does anyone disagree with this course?
Presumably Larrylje guide does NOT need to be reapplied?
I have Sys 3.4

This is covered in the guide under the HBC/Bootmii section. Read the guide again.

Yes. I had skipped this section! Your guide is very comprehensive!

I've sorted the HBC screen problem now, although I had to reinstall the HBC as the IOS61 method didn't work for me. It only took a minute :)
