Hi,

I was soft modding my wii today and everything was going well.

I got to the final section where i was updating the firmware to 4.0 that was included in the softmod guide.

However the power to the wii was turned off during the firmware update. Now when i turn on the wii, I get a black screen and nothing else happens. Boot mii was installed as IOS and not boot2.

Can someone please help?

Do you have preloader installed? if so when you turn wii on hold power reset and eject after you turn on wii. preloader should pop up then choose go into system menu and reinstall whatever you were installing. keep me posted this just happened to my wii two days ago. i will try to help as much as possible.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

I haven't got preloader installed.

I had only installed the homebrew channel and bootmii as IOS.

not sure what to do as there is so much conflicting information out there.

I don't know what you can do, seems to me like your stuck.

you need to install preloader, because bootmii is useless with out it.

have you tried the game cube controller trick? that is the only thing i can think of. if you dont know what it is just google it.

try holding all three front buttons after you turn it on (first power, reset, and eject at same time).

the gamecube controller trick should do the job though
