Ok, so I have an ISO file that I did not create of Metroid Prime 3 (not the Trilogy). I've tried to burn it using Nero at 2x speed on a memorex DVD-R.. chose to finalize disc and all that. Doesn't work. I tried the same thing on several other games as well. Any ideas?

Try downloading Imgburn. Its a freeware, and almost all the games I burned with it ran with the Backup Launcher (except for Call of Duty; had to run that through the Configurable USB Loader). Keep using DVD-R. Good luck.

Same as "SNIPEDMAN":
Use IMGBURN, very easy to use.
Try Verbatim DVD-R for best results.
And burn at 2x speed for no troubles.
Hope it helps.

Keep in mind if this is a new Wii then you probably have the new drive in the system that will not play backup disc no matter what you do. In this case you will need to use a USB Loader.
If it is an older Wii for best backup disc results...
1) use IMGBurn to burn.
2) Use Verbatim or Tayio Yuden (DVD-R quality media).
3) burn at half the rated burn speed (burning to slow can be just as bad as burning to fast).

Hi folks,
This just isnt working for me, I've tried both imgburn and Clone CD.
NO luck
I used to have an LG DVD burner, and was able to burn ISO images no problem, but since ive had my new computer I've had no luck :(
I read in some places that only LG writers can successfully burn wii ISOs, is this true?
If not then what am i doing wrong? Im burning at slow speeds and have also tried medium and fast speeds.
Any help will be much appreciated, Ive wasted about 15 DVDs so far.

Is it a new ISO that you tried to burn?
2 times i got a problem of DVD who didn't work in my WII.
I redownloaded all the files and extract, burn and everything went ok!
Did you tried with an ISO that you already have that you burned with your old computer?
Use DVD-R for best results.
Hope it helps.

"I read in some places that only LG writers can successfully burn wii ISOs, is this true? "
No.
You haven't told us whether or not:
1.Is your Wii modded?
2.Is it soft or hard modded?
3.Do you know for a fact that your Wii is successfully modded and can it read backups of ANY kind?
Without understanding these things, this discussion could circle endlessly with no resolution.

Thanks for the response,
Yes it is modded, i did say in my post I used to be able to burn ISOs onto DVDs fine with my old pc (which had an LG writer), i'm still using the same DVD-Rs that I used then so I dont think the issue lies there.
I'm not sure if it soft mod or hard mod, as it was already done when I got the wii.
The ISOs im using are from my hard drive, which I made using nero.
I have made successful ISO backups with my old PC using Nero
With my new PC I have tried Nero, imgburn and cloneCD - not one success in about 15 attempts :(
The problem is not with the Wii either as I play my backup of Mario Kart, Resi 4 and Bomber man practically everyday.

Thank you for adding those details.
At this point, it looks like this is a bad .iso file (happens a lot of the time).
When this happens on my system (and I've burned hundreds of backups) I look for another .iso or rip my own.

Try different media. Just because the media worked fine on your older drive/computer doesn't mean it works well with the new computer/drive.
