Help, USB Loader freeze!

Hey,
I just recently installed homebrew and followed the steps to install a usb loader to play backed up wii games. I put the wii games on the usb hard drive and connect it to the wii and everything shows up fine in the usb loader. When i try to launch a game though it says "booting wii game, please wait..." and then it freezes. Any idea why? i followed all the steps exactly so unless i really missed something i have no idea. Also i am using an old hard drive from a computer, like really old and just using the connector that allows to attach any hard drive and plug it in a usb. So is it the old hard drive? i'm using configurable usb loader and my Wii is a 4.2U version. Thanks for any help
