I have searched the forum and seen a few answers to this problem but I need to make sure Im understanding and doing this correctly for my son.

I soft modded our wii last year using a guide from here, and today bought him smg2 which is requesting an update.

our wii is ver 4.1E

and ( if Im reading this correctly ) is modded using neogamma R6 I0s249 (rev 13 )

I cant afford to brick this as it would break his heart.

what is the safest thing to do to get this game working ?

can I remove the mods ? or apply an update.

am i correct in thinking if we apply the update from the disc it runs the risk of brcking the box ?

sorry for reposting a question already asked but my knowledge as a boring parent really is limited and I can't afford to have an upset 8 year old on my hands.

Hi! ^henShen I got SMG2 I ran the update to see what it installed and found that it actually overwrites some custom ios's which other loaders, such as neogamma and USB loaders require to run. It's perfectly ok to play this game without updating. You can play it using neogamma, instead of the disk channel and it will skip the update and run as normal! ^^

Also, it appears that your version of Neogamma and your IOS is quite old now. I would prob look into upgrading tham. I think Neogamma is at R8 now and IOS249 is now on rev19. It's a simple enough procedure and there's plenty of tutorials. I will have a look and see if I can point you in the right direction! ^^

If you update you won't brick, but all your softmods will be deleted. Try using neogamma & if that doesn't work, try the guide I have posted on this forum:
