I used the official download from bannerbomber for the 4.2U and everything went smooth except the bootmii which I didn't install. Went the Wii's menu and it shows the homebrew channel...so I click into it...start it and ....not much happens. I got a game I've backed up on a dvd-r but nothing is happening. What's wrong? Do I need to install the Bootmii?

You can't just install HBC and that is it. You will need to softmod your system to be able to play backups. The reason nothing is probably showing up in HBC is because you probably don't have any apps loaded on the SD card in the apps folder.

I would suggest doing some research on how applications work in the HBC. As well I have a 4.2 softmod guide in my sig. If you want to play backup games then follow the guide.
