Its been a long time since I played around with the wii. Its chipped and softmodded and on firmware 4.2U. I recently got a game called Big Beach Sports 2. When I put it in the wii it wants to update it. I know if I do it will get rid of the homebrew channel and softmod right? So what do I need to do to play this or any other newer games on my wii?
Do I let it update then redo the softmod? (I hope not) Or is there a way to make it think its updated allready?
Big Beach Sports 2 was released 3 days after the 4.3 update, so chances are that the update will install the IOS the game needs to run, but It may also overwrite your homebrew. You can install the IOS it needs yourself, which would allow the game to play properly, but no one knows what the IOS is, so it needs to be found out. You can do this with a PC:
Just wanted to update. What I had to do to get this and all other newer games to play. Was to use WiiScrubber and remove the Update partition. Then they play fine.
or you could've kept the original disc, have priiloader block all updates, and use dop-mii to install any missing IOS.
4.1U with latest IOSes and priiloader blocking updates. if i take my external hard drive and my brother uses the wii, it'll play like nothing is wrong.
