Hi, First of all I have already had my wii chiped. I have no idea what kind of chip it is but all I know is that it was a really small one and it was inserted inside the wii so you cant see it. I have seen that you can download and burn wii games as isos. I have already downloaded a game from http://thepiratebay.org/ and used uTorrent to download it. When it finished I had a total of 89 rar files in a folder on my desktop. What I did was I chose the first one and extracted it with Winrar onto my desktop. It was named 'discimage' and has an icon of the Winrar books. I heard that you need to patch the game and make it 249 so I used isopatcher to do it. Then I used WiiUR v1.0 so it doesnt update. Then to burn the game I used imgburner. I have a dvd-rw to burn the game because I have already tryed this many times and have wasted a lot of dvd+R's.
I need to know what it is I'm doing wrong or not doing that I'm supposed to do! When I go to put the game into the wii it turns into a black screen and it says 'corrupted files please check wii manual'. I thought it was because of the patching and stuff so I extacted it once more but this time I didnt patch it or used the WiiUR but when I burn it and put it in the wii it wont read the disk!
I'm really frustrated and have been trying to burn a wii game for weeks now and cant find an answer to my problem. Please help me!!

DVD-RW's dont work for wii games. You need to use a non rewritable disk.

Your earlier disks were probably unreadable because of your patching. All that stuff is totally unnecessary so long as the region of the game matches that of your wii. If you have a US wii, then only download US games. If you have a euro wii, then only use euro games. Pretty simple, right?

Also, you need to use good quality disks. Verbatum -R is one of the best brands to use. If you have off-brand disks then you can try them, but you will get more bad burns than you would with good disks.

Quick version: Only DL games from your wii's home region. Dont patch the games, let them update if they want to. Don't use DVD RW's and, if possible, try to use good-brand disks.

o.k so all I have to do is get a good quality dvd-R disk and just burn the wii game with no patching? What about converting it to 249? Is that necessary because I heard it was for the wii to read it.
And yes both the wii game and the wii are American

Hi everyone, I justed downloaded this game (ISO file) and burned on a Verbatim DVD-R disc. I used Nero burning rom to burn ISO file but my chipped Wii won't read it.

Any clue as to what I could have done wrong?

There are only a few games that need to be patched to IOS249 (a few older games need this done). But for the most part they don't need to be patched to IOS249. Go HERE for a compatibility list and it tells you if the game needs to be patched to IOS249.

Use DVD-R media (Verbatim or Tayio Yuden are good) Use IMGBurn and burn at half the rated burn speed.

Until you get some DVD-R media you might be able to use IMGBurn and booktype your DVD+R media to DVD-ROM (This could help with compatibility). Go HERE for a guide on booktyping using IMGBurn.

I used a Verbatim DVD-R and Nero Burning ROM. But I burned at 18X. I will try to burn at 4X.

Do I have to use Imgburn will Nero Burning ROM work?

Why do you not understand it?

Go to the compatibility list. Look under M for Manhunt 2. If it says to patch to IOS249 then patch it. If it doesn't then don't patch it.

larrylje, I just tried using Nero Burning ROM to burn the ISO at 4X, still does not work. I have used Nero to burn at this speed and wokred before. Unless ISO file is corrupt, but the link (under Comments) show it works. http://isohunt.com/torrent_details/14309...es?tab=comments

anything else?

Princo media is third rate. Your laptop should burn Verbatim or Sony well. Invest in those instead. Those drives are locked. There are media that just won't work with a Matshita drive.

umm I'm kind of new to this tech stuff so all I understood is that I should get a new drive to burn? Is there any physical installing or is it just a download? What kind of drive should I get?
Could you explain to me in simpler words please :)
Thanks

Excuse the geek speak =) Just get different brand of DVD-R. Then try to re-burn the image file.

Like I've stated, you can try Verbatim or Sony DVD-R since your drive can't bitset to DVD-ROM. There is no guarantee that you will be able to play backups because of this. However, this will eliminate one potential issue。If you encounter other problems along the way, update the thread.

People need to read replies more thorough. I also said Verbatim or Tayio Yudens are good. Why come here and ask questions if your just going to skip over half the recommendations we give?
