How to upgrade to HackMii Installer v0.5?

Running an older version. Do I just take the SD card out of my wii,copy the new files over to it, put it back in the wii and install?

Got the same question.

I think I used hackmii v0.2 or v0.3 a while back (got bootmii beta v0.2).

Is it okay just to update HBC through the HBC update function (inside the application) and then just install the new bootmii through the hackmii installer?

Or do I have to uninstall HBC with WAD Manager and run a full new installation with hackmii?

Just install over the older versions. The Bootmii installer will remove older versions automatically before installing the newer versions.

I would also recommend making another backup of your NAND since the newer Bootmii version does it different then the old way.

Is the only reason why you update these apps (using HackMii V.05) to provided support for Sytem menu V4.2 - but so far I can see no reason why anyone would (intentional) want to go to System V4.2?

So if I have a working V4.1 on running older homebrew / bootmii /divx I should leave it the hell alone?

Plus if I did update, will I need to reinstall Preloader (which is required since my Bootmii installs as IOS).

Preloader 0.29 should install fine on SM 4.2 (preferably ran on IOS 60). You should, of course, also have the re-ported 4.2 hacks.ini file.
